I presented a new version of Circular Reasoning fractures and fraction circles at Squeakfest '06, which took place July 19-21, 2006 at Columbia College. See synopsis of the talk.

Recently I gave a talk called Exploring Angles with MicroWorlds and Circular Reasoning at NCTM regional conferences.

The talk addresses elementary school children's well-documented difficulties in comparing, measuring, drawing and describing angles. I describe the use of Montessori-inspired (mostly computer-based) activities that address these difficulties and resulted in significant gains in performance on selected NAEP geometry questions for a group of third and fourth graders.

I also wrote up notes on a similar class I'm giving to gifted fourth and fifth graders in the parents section of this site.
